Frequently asked questions...

How do I send Ashes?

To create the keepsake, just a small amount of hair or ashes is needed.

If you are sending ashes, I usually ask for approx. 1/2 - 1 teaspoon (depending on the item/s).

Ashes should be sent via Royal Mail Recorded or Special Delivery, in a zip lock style packet and envelope.

As well as the ashes/hair, please include your name/address inside the envelope.

How long is the making process?

Memorial items can take up to six weeks to create, it's a long process but hopefully worth it.

Each item is created in layers, ensuring I can add as much ash as possible. Each layer can take around 24-48 hours to set. The final finishing clear layer needs three days to fully cure.

Due to my busy order book, I am unable to send updates throughout - however you will be updated towards the end of the making progress (with a photograph) before posting.

Can ash be removed from the jewellery?

I create all memorial pieces with Crystal grade Resin - mixing ash into the resin in layers. As each layer sets it hardens, encasing the ashes. Once set, ashes are unable to be removed.

How do you post the memorial item, and what does it cost?

All memorial items are posted via Royal Mail, Special Delivery (by 1pm). A standard fee of £7.00 per order is added during the checkout process.

Can I wear my memorial jewellery in the shower?

The polyurethane resin is water-resistant but not waterproof, so please remove your memorial jewellery when showering, bathing and swimming.
Rings should also be removed for extreme manual labour, as they are a precious keepsake.

How can I care for my memorial jewellery?

Your jewellery keepsake is precious and needs to be treated with love and care.
This is a handmade item.
I make every effort to ensure my pieces are as durable as possible - they are designed to last a long time. However, there are things you can do to help!
To ensure your item stays in top condition, when not worn keep in the small box provided.
The polyurethane resin is water-resistant but not waterproof, so please remove your memorial jewellery when showering, bathing and swimming. Rings should be removed for extreme manual labour.
Please try to avoid spraying household chemicals or beauty products onto your memorial jewellery, as this can encourage the metal to tarnish more quickly.
If an item has tarnished, use a soft, dry microfibre polishing cloth to remove the oxidation from the metal.
Make sure you take care of your precious jewellery and keepsakes so that they can last!

How do I know the memorial jewellery contains my inclusions?

I fully understand how important memorial items can be - and so each item is made with care and respect.

Once the ash/hair is received it is placed in a secure container with your name and order number. Each memorial item is worked on individually, ensuring there is no cross contamination.

Where to I post the Ashes/Hair?

The address for posting the inclusions can be found once the order has been placed, at the bottom of your receipt page.
